I pulled up the indoor outdoor carpet in my sunroom and there are these gaps between the concrete. Also, there is a crack in one corner which extends to the outside of the sunroom. A friend said I can just scrape out the old stuff and put vinyl cement in there. I don't know anything about concrete. Any suggestions to help me out?
Those gaps look like nicely built control joints. If they are, do not fill them with concrete, they need to be filled with an elastic sealant such as polybutlylene. As for fixing the concrete, what are you attempting to do? Install a new floor? Polilsh the concrete to use that as your surface? Acid etch the concrete? Tell us the end game, and perhaps someone can help you get there.
Thanks for the reply. I am torn between putting tile in or indoor/outdoor carpet. Most likely it will be carpet, so I guess I just need the floor relatively level. I think carpet will be the cheapest option.
