Sunken floors in a new build.
Hi all, first time post.
A little bit off track. I am an avid DIY fan, been at for at least 30 years, but my wife and I have decided and we are buying a new build for our latest home.
The showroom we went to had a step down theatre room, which of course she fell in love with, but having drinks with friends last night they stated that sunken floors/drop down floors/step down floors (what ever you call them) can actually cause health problems.
Personally, I'm not fussed. It does look good, but happy not to have it, but I don't want to pay $2,000 (AUD) to have this feature only to find out it's bad for you. Something to do with the air from the rest of the house coming into the room at neck level and causing problems.
My friend said that people who had this feature regretted it and some raised the floor.
I'd be grateful for any comments or further information.
