is it ok to use plywood for a section of the subfloor if the rest is cedar plank? part of our kitchen subfloor has water damage and we need to replace a cedar plank that is damaged. the house is from 1965 and they didn't run the tile under the cabinets - the water damage is from the sink. In any case is this ok - or should we replace with a cedar plank.
anything for or against the plywood? anything for or against the cedar plank? TYIA.
ok - just saw there is a flooring forum - not sure how i missed it. can someone move this over? thanks.
Plywood should be fine---thickness is the big issue---
I'll move this to flooring for you---Mike----
