sub floor repair

Hey guys just looking for some tips or thoughts on how to repair this issue with the subfloor that im having carpeted.I'm going To try to word this the best I can.

The room used to be the garage and it was turned into a living room. There is a gap in the flooring at the entrance that I believe used to be walled off and the foundation drops down there. The subfloor was built up to the same height but there's about a 6 inch gap that has to be fixed so we can carpet up to the doorway. The gap has the subfloor coming up to 2x4 running on floor and then concrete. The gap is about a half inch lower than the sub floors but like everything in this house its crooked. Almost flush on left side to the half inch gap on right side.

I was thinking about just shimming the right side and then scrwwing down thin plywood across the entire span. The only issue is this will leave a small lip under the carpet. We picked a very plush carpet so I don't think it will be noticeable but I'm not sure. Any other ideas on how to patch this space?

depending on the style of your home, some leveler and a wide threshold (custom or other) might be an option.
