Style question on flooring choices
I put in a light elm laminate in my 15 by 30 LR, and adjacent hallway. There is a bath off the hallway and I had a compatible wood pattern from Flexitec installed.
Fast forward over a DR with a dark dark red floor. Now I have to do a kitchen and the familyroom -- both intersect with my red brick floor.
I have been stewing over the choices in the soft step category.
My house is a 1960s California Ranch house with an OPEN floor plan.
Even though I prefer some of the mid-range wood looks, I am leaning towards trying to find something in the lighter tones, same as in the LR.
My furniture is oak and an oak-look floor could be too much of a good thing.
The house is dark so going darker is unacceptable.
I have toyed with the tile and stone looks and I keep thinking they are best for the kitchen-bath areas.
Anyone else stewing over these same decisions?
