I like the stranded bamboo floors, but they can only be nailed or glued down. It is a fairly new material that is about 1/2" th thick and are not a typical engineered wood, but not really a hardwood either, so there is not much info about instalation. The other catch is, I think there is asbestos tile currently glued to the concrete. I only have an 1 1/2 between the concrete and the front door, so that is the most I can raise the floor.

I will lay down 6 mil plastic then screw down half inch OSB to the concrete. Then I will glue down the floor.
I am a bit unsure about the lack of air flow under the floor. Also, what are some good floor leveling compounds?
