can the strand bamboo flooring (5/8 or 9/16) be installed over old oak hardwood flooring that has been previously sanded down to the nailheads, assuming old floor to be reasonably level? Does something need to be between the old and new installation or can the new be nailed or glued to the old?
I think you would be fine to do that. I would use a vapor barrier like aquabar under the bamboo and I would lay it at a 90 degree angle to the existing floor. If you decide to glue, I would sand the finish off the existing floor to make sure you get good adhesion.
