stinky concrete and laminate flooring

We're putting in Laminate flooring over concrete that has been used as a bathroom by 6 cats (EWWWWW). We are trying to get the odor neutralized and are planning to use KILZ as a sealer for the walls before painting...can we use the KILZ on the concrete before putting in Laminate flooring? If not, what can we use to seal out the nasty odor???

My first search woud be concrete sealer but you should first try to clean and dry out the area as much as possible. On second thought, concrete cleaner should be your first search.

Absolutely not!

You do not want to try to "seal-in" the odors. It won't work over time.

You should go to a pet store (a real pet store) and get some "enzymes" used for that purpose. Get enough to flood the area, a simple light spraying won't work. Flood it and leave it to dry on its own. Basically, the volume of liquid enzyme should equal the volume of urine present.:)

No sealer will seal in the odor. The first time the concrete takes on any moisture it will reactivate the sealed-in urine. Concrete frequently absorbs moisture with seasonal changes and groundwater-level fluctuations.:)

you can use the cleaner that you use when cleaning the garage floor before you paint . this seems to work well and make sure you flood the area and scrum with a brush like you do when cleaning the garage florr before you paint it with epoxy BASH 176
