Staining hardwood floor

Hi , I recently purchased a new place with pre engineerd hardwood flooring "Heavewood" .. wondering if I can stain it darker.. its a natural brown, but would like it darker.

What would be the best options, for the best results.. its only one main living room, approx 20 ft x 10 ft..

Thanks guys.

Staining hardwood floor

Is the flooring already in a finished state - i.e. glossy? if so its been sealed and the sealer wont allow any stain in, it would have to be stripped back to stain.

Do you know how thick the top laminate is? Some of them are paper thin veneer.
