Staining hardwood floor

noodlesalad Newbie   Join Date: Apr 2006 Posts: 4	Staining hardwood floor Hi , I recently purchased a new place with pre engineerd hardwood flooring "Heavewood" .. wondering if I can stain it darker.. its a natural brown, but would like it darker. What would be the best options, for the best results.. its only one main living room, approx 20 ft x 10 ft.. Thanks guys.

lxdollarsxl Member   Join Date: Apr 2006 Posts: 73	Staining hardwood floor Is the flooring already in a finished state - i.e. glossy? if so its been sealed and the sealer wont allow any stain in, it would have to be stripped back to stain.

What have I done Member   Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 244	Staining hardwood floor rent a squar buff sander...buff off the shiney coat..restain or use a stain/poly ( tripsaver) and reseal
