I suggest that use only warm water and a soft mop. Beware of any type of mop that has the potential to scratch; marble is very susceptible to scratches due to its soft nature.

also really easy to polish out

i've had marble in both my bathrooms for a couple years now. no stains, no problems and scratches can buff out if you need to. i honestly beat the hell out of them. work boots, dropping crap, mud, grime, you name it. they clean up just fine. i would use a good sealer and keep up on it though. think i used 511 if i remember right.

the single most damaging them you can do is drop a blunt object. a screwdriver, hair clippers that land on the steel side. things of that nature will chip the stone.
