squeaky subFloor

One of my upstairs bedrooms has a squeaky sub floor which has been this way since I purchased the home. I decided to investigate this. I pulled up the carpet and found that the sub floor is particleboard. There are areas where the particleboards meet where the squeaking appears to come from. Is there some sort of glue I can put into the seams to stop this?

squeaky subFloor

If the two peices of pb are rubbing together to make the squeak then I would take a saw and set the depth to 3/4 of an inch and saw a kerf right where the two peices rub together. This should eliminate any squeaking and should not affect the structural integrity of the pb.

Dave.

P.S. You could then run a bead of construction adhesive between the boards if you like.
