squeaking hardieboard floor

Hi everyone,

I'm in the midst of my bathroom renovation. i put down an entirely new 3/4" plywood subfloor (attached with adhesive and screws). about 2 months later i got around to putting down 1/4"hardieboard with mortar and screws. yesterday, about 6 weeks later my floor has started to squeak along the tub. I still have not put the tile floor down. I'm not sure if it's the hardieboard/subfloor that is squeaking or the subfloor/joist that is squeaking. Before i put the tile on the floor i figured i would check for advice.

Not sure if i should just leave it and let it squeak or try to fix it. if i fix it...how??

thanks!

Jamie

Be sure its not the tub against the new wood or just the tub against the wood under it. Its a good bit hotter in NJ than it was 6 weeks ago and tubs and wood expand a lot!

The Hardi has nothing to do with it. More than likely the ply has expanded and is rubbing together or rubbing on something.
