Spacers for Laminate Floor

The directions for my DuPont laminate floor say to use 3/8 inch spacers. My installers are using 5mm. Is that OK?

Make sure you base board is thick enough to leave a 3/8" space. In my part of the country most base is only 3/8". Therefore you have to leave the space closer to the wall. Or, add shoe mold which most people don't want the added expense.
