solid wood bamboo click lock floor

I have previously installed a nice tongue and groove narrow 1/2" oak floor from lumber liquidators and have had no problems with it: it's in a bedroom, but still looks great 3 yrs later. I was amazed that very few pieces were bad and I mean maybe 5 pieces from all the boxes, however, it was a big pain in the butt: layed it on a concrete slab, ripped up carpet, rolled a liquid vapor barrier and used engineered glue to attach the wood directly to the vapor barrier.

I am looking at a fairly new product that is a 1/2" solid stranded carbonized click lock bamboo that is a floating floor made by morning star and sold by lumber liqidators at 3.59/sqft. I have read only good reviews, but very hesitant about reviews, since there is some evidence that the store pays people to write reviews: good of course. I would love to get some honest feedback on this type of floor and is it worth the money. I am installing 600 sqft and don't want to have a bad experience installing, but worse don't want something that will be squeaking all the time. All assistance is appreciated.

here are some of the reviews i read before warning my uncle not to buy 800sq ft of flooring from LL

i have also read that they sell you 2-3 boxes more then you need then either refuse to let you return the unused boxes or charge you a 20% restocking fee. i also think it odd that if you read the reviews on their site that there i never see anything negative about them or their products. we wanted brazillian tigerwood for our flooring, LL was over 2 dollars a sq ft higher then where we bought it. they aren't the cheaper place to go anymore like they used to be and they sell many inferior products. by the same token some people are happy with what they buy there.

Thanks for your reply

I have looked at some of the other brands and short of installing glue down, tongue and groove, this is my best option for quality. I do like what I have previously installed from LL, but also understand that quality and price do vary.

US Floors has all strand woven locking product. You'll probably pay more for it than at LL, but you do get what you pay for.

I had good luck with two flooring purchases from LL. One was solid hardwood, the other, engineered cork. Some of the hardwood was inconsistent. Instead of all being 4" wide, some were maybe 4 1/64. They key was to set aside those wider boards, when found, until there were enough to use for a complete row. Engineered flooring should be more consistent, however. I had absolutely no problems with my engineered cork flooring install.
