Smallest Grout line for Porcelain Tiles 20 x 20
I plan to tear out old 13 x 13 ceramic tiles in a large open area of 1,000 sq. feet and replace it with 20 x 20 rectified porcelain tiles on a concrete slab. What is the smallest possible grout lines -- I would like 1/16, but I have been told that 1/8 is the smallest. I really like large tiles butted close together so is it possible to have 1/16 grout lines?
Thanks for responding.

You can try it if it's your house, but I'd like to watch and bring a few friends. The industry says 1/8" if the tiles are good quality rectified. But you may have one heck of a time with 20" and only 1/8" gap. 3/16" would make your installation much easier.

It comes down to how consistent the tiles are and the floor better be super flat.

jazman is spot on not only do you have to worry about the tile being square and the same size you will also have to worry about waves in the floor and making th3em flush with no trippers
