slate tile flooring


can i use a 10'' compond miter saw to cut slate ? can this project 1400sf be done by someone with no exp ?

Not if the poll represents the persons tiling skill level. Really though...your what the heck are you asking with the poll?

No you cannot use a 10" compound miter saw to cut slate...use a water tile saw.

YOU, are asking for trouble in many ways. The first thing to do is choose a more installer/user friendly floor tile for openers. Then acquire the proper tools before you venture out. Then next week hire a pro to finish the installation.

Instead of slate find some tile that looks the same & use that
Then use a tile saw to cut it
I tiled my last bathroom - came out pretty good for my 1st attempt
I've done a bit of tiling now, I won't try slate
