Shower Pan Tiling

We are in the middle of renovating our bathroom. We have chosen pebble tile for the shower pan and am uncertain whether to tile the shower pan first or tile the walls.

We are using large format porcelain tile on the walls.

Is it it better to cut the wall tile when the floor pebbles are in place OR to tile the wall down to the pan and then install the floor pebbles?

Pan first so the wall tile will stick out past the pan tile.

Most tile setters use a ledger board to hold up the second course of wall tile---leaving out the bottom course until after the walls are complete---

If you are using that method----tile upper walls first---then the pan--then the bottom course of tiles-

Saves you from working over the newly laid pan tiles----

By the way----pebble tiles are troublesome--the uneven random sizes cause drainage problems---leaving lots of soap scum to build up in the grout---most people hate it--complain about the look--and often rip out the pan tiles and replace them---
