Shower pan pre-slope question, help!

Okay, so my girlfriend and I are renovating a bathroom in our house. For the shower, we are building a concrete base. The first thing we had done was have a plumber come in to install a new shower valve and he also installed a floor drain and "pre-sloped" it. HOWEVER! Now that I am reading these forums he did not put down a liner OR wire mesh. He just threw concrete down on top of the new wood sub floor, sloped it a bit, installed a membrane on top and attached it to the drain.

Okay, finally my question. Do I rip it all out? Is the wire mesh 100% necessary for the pre-slope?

Thank you so much. I am having a great time trying to do this, but at the end of the day help is still needed!

Jay

Why not just by a Schluter Shower Kit? Takes care of the slope and gives you a nicer drain and waterproof shower.

Shower pan pre-slope question, help!

Um, because that is not what I have? The pre-slope is already in and set up. My question is about the necessity of the wire lathe stuff because I do not think the guy that came and did the pre-slope used it.
