What brand, style of floor is it? I would never wax a wood floor; slippery, it won't last, and you'll have a devil of a time if you go to refinish (if the floor can be refinished).

The floor is either engineered, or 3/4" T&G both of which are prefinished. There are products at the big box stores, by the flooring manufactures, such as floor protector, not sure if this will increase the gloss or not.

I would not wax, nor would I try and reseal with urethane, unless you do a full sand job and restain and refinish, chances are the flooring was chosen with that satin finish, and the only way to change it is to refinish with a higher gloss.

Prefinished flooring is more durable, that being said, unless there is alot wrong with the floor, I wouldn't recommend refinishing either.

sanding pre finish with aluminum oxide in it is no picnic.

Leave well enough alone .
