Self leveling concrete in basement
I have a corner that dips about 3/4 of an inch. Didn't notice it until I got the drywall up. Would self leveling concrete be the best bet? Does priming really matter if I'm putting engineered hardwood over it with some type of soft underlayment between the two? I know primer helps it to stick and not dry out too fast, but I figure if it cracks it shouldn't really matter since it's just acting like a big shim for the floor. I could be way off so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Primer is essential---without priming the self leveling compound can pop off the concrete--

Priming takes 10 minutes and a little dry time. Why would you even consider skipping this step?

There's not alot of ventilation down there so of it isn't necessary I would rather skip it. Plus saving money is always good. Am I wrong for thinking it doesn't matter if it pops off since it will have nowhere to go? I'd fill the area with sand if it was considered ok.

If you don't want to prime .use Jifset mixed with Linewebers liquid latex---

This is premium priced---so that won't work ---

Why are you bent on doing this in a cut corner fashion? Loose crunchy broken up compound under your new flooring is acceptable to you?

No it's not. Who taught you that nonsense? Doesn't matter, they were wrong. Sometimes saving money now is costing you twice as much later - and later comes far too soon when you cheap out on something that takes the beating a floor does. You need to understand the difference between marketing BS and good common sense.

I'm not trying to cut corners if it's going to be an issue. I'm posting here to find out if it's necessary. So I guess I'll prime it. Any suggestions on what I should use as far as concrete? I guess HD would be the easiest place to purchase it. I'm going to check their site in a bit. Thanks.

This looks like it should do the job:
