Sealing stone outdoors in cold weather

We have recently installed outdoor flagstone patios but our contractor was unable to get them sealed before the snow came. He told us it would be spring or summer before we could seal it. All of our flagstone patios are under roof overhangs and the we have had a week long warm spell (30-40 degrees). Can the flagstone be sealed in cold weather or do we need to wait for spring?
