sealing slate

I am installing a light colored slate in a kitchen. I would like to darken the slate to give it a "wet" look. Seakers and enhansers do nothing. I tried a satin varathane on a sample and it is exactly what I want. The slate is pourous and not smooth so there should be no problems with this finish sticking. Are there any problems doing this???

I only use sealers made for this, check with the manudacturer of this product and see what they say.:)

What sealers have you tried already, Aquamix and Stonetech both make sealers that will give you that look.:)

You will probably have to strip whatever sealer you used , before applying another, 2 coats of whatver you use should be applyed before grouting, grouting slate is a PITA.:)

Did you seal this floor yet or try the sealers you didn't like on a sample?:)

Thanks for the reply R&D. I tried the sealers on samples only. I will try the aquamix products.:)
