sealing grout, how many coats?

I am using Surface guard Penetrating sealer on my new grout. How many coats does it generally take? How do you know when you have enough on? I have applied 3 heavy coats already, is that enough? The back of the bag says two or more for new grout, but I'm just wondering when to stop.

Three coats is plenty. I don't know what you mean by heavy, but I doubt any more will soak in now? You applied, let it set 5 min. then wiped excess right?

Also it's best to ask any other questions to the original thread so that we would know the history of your project.
