Rug keeps sliding on pad

In my hallway, on my hardwood floor, I placed a rug and a pad. Simple enough, right? But, they kept sliding to one side of the hallway after a day or 2 of traffic.

So I bought some special "grip strips" (my term - i forget what they were called) designed to keep the pad from sliding on the floor. I affixed them to the bottom of the pad, and, they WORKED. The pad has not moved since.

But, now the rug is sliding across the pad . I tried using the same type of strips on the bottom of the rug, but that did NOT work.

Any suggestions for getting the rug to adhere to the pad?

Thx all,
mfeeny

Rug keeps sliding on pad

If you do not want to tape the rug to the pad, liquid latex for rug backing may work. I have not bought it in awhile but should think a flooring store would have it?

Rug keeps sliding on pad

the double sided tape I have is easily removable.

I got mine for a different reason, to keep the cat from scratching under the bottom edge of the carpet on the stairs.
