Im doing some renos in the basement. Im looking at using resilient vinyl tiles. Trafficmaster brand from HD.
Ive used the tiles before, found them easy to use, durable and happy after they have been down for 2 years now.
Any pitfalls anyone knows about to having them on concrete? Its in a basement, the floor doesnt 'sweat', so moisture isnt an issue.
Ive flattened out the floor using a floor leveller (brillant stuff). Does the leveller need to be primed in anyway before placing tiles down on it?
Anyone use this product over concrete before? Just wondering longterm results.
resilient flooring is so much cheaper than the alternatives, sheet vinyl, laminate flooring, carpet, ect, especially when you factor in the underlay needed for those. But I dont want to save 3 or 4 hundred dollars and just have to redo the whole thing over in a couple years...
Do you mean VCT or peel and stick? If peel and stick, you would accomplish as much by flushing the money.
peel and stick
What issues are you seeing with these? Just because it is on concrete? or them in general?
I have used them before, in a bathroom, been over two years that they have been down and I havent any problems with them
