Our mud room currently has carpet and we are looking to replace it with vinyl self stick tiles.
I am tackling this myself and have put the self stick tiles over vinyl sheeting but had a nice clean surface to work with.
The carpet that is in there is the pad attached carpet (one piece). What is the best way to get this up and clean the sub-floor before I lay the vinyl?
I am using the self stick vinyl but would like a little added security, is there a certain adhesive product that can be purchased at Menards, Home depot, or Lowes that I can use with the self stick tiles?
If the old carpet was glued, you will have to hand scrape the whole floor. You can use the back side of a trowel and put a very light coating of tile adhesive down before you install the tile. It needs to be pressure sensitive adhesive and needs to dry clear before any tile is installed.
The ads in my post are there without my permission. I do not endorse any of the products.
Installing since 1973
