Removing tile; electric tile stripper or rotary hammer?
I'm removing the 33 year old ceramic kitchen floor tile from a concrete base. It's a small kitchen and I'm going to re-tile it.
To remove the old tile should I use an electric tile stripper or a rotary hammer with a chisel blade on it? The local home supply store will rent me either tool.
Also in another room I'm removing vinyl tile from a concrete base in perpetration to smoothing the floor and installing glue down engineered hardwood.
Could I use the same rental tool for both (with different blades)?
The size of the ceramic kitchen tile to removed is 50 sf and the size of the vinyl tile to removed is about 120 square feet?
Which tool would be easier to use and which tool would do a better job removing the mastic/glue?
Many thanks in advance for the help.
