Question

Removing stuck under lay foam HELP!!

Hi Everyone,
I am doing a DIY and putting in new Bamboo fiber flooring. Whom ever lived in my home before I bought it, saw it fit to use a old foam back carpet as underlay for their carpet. So now I have the task of trying to get the stuck foam under lay off the wood base. Does any one have ANY tips as to getting this stuff OFF. At the present Just doing the scraping. Hard work. Any and All hints would be helpful. Thanks Gang Sue

Dull the blade a little. A new sharp blade will dig into the floor.

Removing stuck under lay foam HELP!!

Hi and thanks for the in put, I did figure out after trying a few different ways that if you use a belt sander with a rough grid paper, it stripes it away very fast. Heat gun was just way to smelly. So for any one in the future wants to get the job done faster with only a small bit of scraping. Sanding is the way to go. The Foam does not burn at all and does not turn it into a fine dust. So no breathing in of the foam pieces. This works great I think and I will not have sore arms from scraping. If I had a floor sander I thing that would be best. But for now it works. Sue
