Removing paint from hardwoods

I had polyurethane put on my hardwood floors and they looked great. Unfortunately, I hadn't finished painting, so I carefully taped around the edges and primered the room.

Well, when I took up the tape, the primer had bled under it onto the floor. I don't know what to do; I don't want to scrape or sand because that will ruin the finish, but I can't have paint around the edges of all my rooms.

The paint never extends more than a quarter of an inch onto the floor and is a very thin layer. Any advice?

Try some alcohol in an out of the way place. I know that it will take of the paint, just not sure of the floor. Polyurethane should take it.

Oops!
...um, it's a product, I'm not saying oops you got paint on your poly lol
"Oops!" works great
Just follow the directions on the bottle
You won't need to use much or to scrub hard as the latex is new

I know of a product that is designed to take glue residue off of poly floors. Maybe it will work on paint.
local hardware store will have it.

Also if the coating on the floor is an oil based finish you shouldn't have to worry as products like 'OOps' and 'goof off' don't work on oil but work great on latex.

Like Teetor said try anything you use in an out of the way place first.
