removing mastic from plywood

Hey everyone, I sure hope you can help. I'm replacing my floors with engineered flooring throughout the house. I've broken up all the tile in my kitchen, but it was placed over 1/2 plywood. I plan on putting down underlayment over this to give more thickness to the subfloor, but is there a faster/easier/cheaper way to strip all the old mastic off without scraping for days, or buying a sander/grinder to get the floor back to smooth? I've been scraping the floor for twice as long as it took me to take up all the tile. I'd apprciate any advice, and I would preferr to not replace all my plywood subflooring. Thanks
