Removing glued hardiebacker board
We are replacing our ceramic tile kitchen floor with hardwood. The tile is coming up in whole pieces, however the hardiebacker board is nailed and glued to the sub floor. Does anyone know of an easy way to get this stuff up. It just seems to crumble into tiny pieces. It is taking an incredibly long time! Please we need HELP!
There is no "easy way".
We use what is called a "heavy-bar" and just go after it. We also have an air driven standup chisel that works well. But "IT AIN'T CHILDS PLAY".
Once the backer is out of the way the screws can be broken off if need be.:)
