Removing Ceramic tile from subfloor

Hi;

I have ceramic tile in my kitchen which is badly cracked due to the subfloor having a hump. It is six by six tile, and I would like to remove it from the kitchen floor and replace it with cork or wood plank flooring. I would like to try to salvage the undamaged tiles to repair the rest of the floor adjacent to the kitchen. Does anybody have any suggestions for removing the undamaged tiles without destroying them in the process?

Thanks

Gerry:huh:

If it had been installed right you'll have a hard time saving many if any. No way to know until you start removing. It also depends on what the tiles are set over and with what. I would say you should be able to salvage some with luck.

Thanks for the response JazMan.

You are likely right, but I'll give it a try. As far as I know the subfloor is plywood. I'll know for sure once I start.
