Removing Carpet Adhesive

We just bought a house which has Ozite type carpet glued to a poured concrete step with a typical broomed surface.

Is there any practical way to get this glue off and just have the concrete step in it's original form and look. (I don't want to start if there isn't a good solution.)

Options that I could think of would be solvents, heat or cold. Cold would be accomplished by waiting for a cold winter day in the -20 deg F or -30C range.

Thanks,

Glyndwr
