Removing adhesives/stains from concrete

Curious if anyone has any suggestions. I have a large artist run space that has grid pattern left over from tile removal and some random stains. You can see it here...

I have tried applying a environmentally safe concrete cleaner but it did little to nothing. The stains and pattern do not raise off the concrete so scraping havn't been very successful also. Does anyone have any suggestions whether they be chemical or manual?

Thanks

muriatic acid. use it in a common pump sprayer, first fill with water, then add muriatic acid maybe 10 to 1 for a small section. spray solution on floor, watch it fizz and maybe agitate it with a push broom. wear eye protection as well as a mask for the fumes. then rinse with clean tap water and let dry.

You may be tempted to go 1 to 1 but don't. at least not at first. muriatic is exceptionally strong and can damage the floor as well as your lungs so take it easy until you find a solution that works. good luck

Muriatic acid should work. However, if you plan on doing an acid wash or staining, which will cover up the gridlines, muriatic acid will etch the concrete not allowing the stain to work.

Perhaps renting a diamond cement grinder would work as well? I cannot see the pictures here are work.
