I started removing tile from our bathroom floor and they are the tiny 1x1's. I have been using a grout saw and grout removal tool and then using a hammer and multi-tool (paint scraper) to lift up the tile one at a time basically.
I do not mind doing this as I do not have much of a choice do to being on the 2nd floor and having an elderly lady below us who likes to complain a lot.
Underneath the tile, I assume is mastic? Underneath that is concrete I assume. I have read some different posts and it may also be gypcrete. Is there a way to tell exactly what may be underneath.
Where the old vanity was, they did not tile underneath, so it appears to be concrete.
The building was built in the 70's. We had a friend give us a quote for demo and install and it was not in our ballpark figure. At least doing the demo, would knock the price down. I figure if I am going to demo it though, I might as well go ahead and install it..
I should be able to post a picture, yes. I will try to get one up here for you to look at.
