Remove tile grout

I have a 8 sqft shower floor with 3/4" x 3/4" marble mosaic installed. I don't like the color of the grout and I'd like to remove it and re-grout. What tool would you recommend for grout removal?

I saw at Home Depot hand tools like grout saw, as well as power tools like Dremel. Not sure if the hand tool works well, or is it worth it to invest in power tool for such a small area (albeit a lot of grout lines due to small size of the mosaic)?

Any suggestions?

Nasty job---Is it regular cement base grout--or epoxy--????

The hand grout saw is the safest--along with a utility knife and lots of blades.
The job can be speeded up a lot with a multi-tool with a grout blade---Price tool -check out Harbor Freight--They have a cheap-o version that I have heard works well.

There are grout removal blades for Saws Alls--The long stroke and high speed is to dangerous for mosaics.

Nasty job---Have you tried colored sun glasses?---Mike---

Why not just use Aquamix epoxy grout dye? No need to remove the grout. You just roll the dye on the grout line with the applicator bottle. It changes the grout color and makes it stain resistant.

FIRST!
What type of grout is it?
What type of mosaic pattern is it?

The type of grout will determine its removal method. Only then can the necessary tools be selected.

The style of mosaic will determine if it is even feasibly do-able.

I bought a Dremel Mutl-Max and the 1/16" Grout Saw head from HD today. Best $130 I have spent in a while. I got the job done under 2 hours. My hands are a little shaky right now from the vibration. But it was fast, it was clean. There is virtually no dust. I used a small shop-vac to clean as I worked.

Fortunately I have 3/4" x 3/4" squre mosaics with straight grout lines... It is a lot of lines, but lines nontheless. Imagine if I have brick pattern, or hexagon mosaic. That would be real nasty!

Glad to hear that the tool worked so well---I'll be adding one to the pile soon. Was the grout blade very expensive?

$100 for Dremel Multi-max
$30 for the Grout Saw.

you can probably find a better deal online. but i don't like to wait, nor paying shipping fees...
