Remove Screwed and Glued Subfloor

I am replacing all the carpeting in my two story home and have completed the tear out of the old carpet and pad. While I have it out I though it would be a good time to install recessed lighting on the first floor by lifting the subfloor on the second floor so I could access the first floor ceiling from above. When I started to remove the necessary pieces of subfloor I discovered they are screwed and glued. Is there a trick to removing the screwed and glued subfloor? Should I just abandon my dream of wiring from above and just cut a slit in the ceiling from below so I can run the wires perpendicular to the joists? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

Remove Screwed and Glued Subfloor

take the screws out and try heating the glue to see if it will soften and release.

Or you could take the screws out and cut the plywood into strips and break it out with a crowbar. Then cut a replacement patch from another sheet when you're done.
