regular roofing asphalt paper under 3/4" wood floor?

I ordered my 3/4" Brazillian Redwood back in April, it finally came in yesterday. We are installing in a 2nd floor bedroom on 3/4" plywood over 2' span joists, perpendicular of course. The spec sheet says "laminated rosin paper or #15 builders felt (tarpaper) may be used to reduce movement and retard moisture, etc."
Just wondering if this is typical asphalt roofing paper? I happen to have a roll and a half of this from redoing the exterior wall. TIA.

#15 builders felt is the same thing as "tar paper". Rosin paper is a very thick paper, about the thickness of poster board and kind of terra cotta in color whenever I have seen it, and I am not sure what it is impregnated with.

Do you think it is a good idea to use this under the wood to dull some noise, if nothing else? Thanks for the resonse.

Absolutely, you want a barrrier between the two wood layers to help prevent squeeks from movement.
