Refinishing cement garage floor question

I picked up a few "epoxy" kits to redo my garage floor.

Here is the question. The floor is in need of some love. I can see some sections where some "small rocks" are showing.. Almost like the floor is wearing down a little.

What is the easiest way to correct this so my floor, after the epoxy, looks nice?

thanks!
