also i am looking for any brands/companys that sell hand scraped hickory
the real hard wood i have seen is very expensive and engineerd is quite abit cheaper

I used some in my mother inlaws house that is a laminated flooring. It worked real well. I tried it in my house and I have troubles with it. Seems that the end joints want to seperate. Then again my mother lives with me and she is heavy and likes to scuff her feet when she walks. This may attribute to the problem. My new house will have hardwood, not only because it will wear better and longer but the resale value will be higher. We got our laminated flooring from lumber liqidators. Now maybe other companies have a better laminated product thats better, I do not know, but I will be keeping an eye out on this post to see what others have to say.

Thickness will determine value.

traditionally engineered is more expensive because there is more manufacturing involved.

I am a fan of Biltmore estate from Anderson hardwood.

They have a Hickory that looks amazing.

Olmstead forest plank - canyon ridge - hickory.
