Hi all. First of all, I'm new here.. so.. HELLO! I've been browsing the threads seeking help on my project. I'm a first time homebuyer who has bought new construction condo.
At the time of purchase I could not afford the upgrades, so I have standard condo pre-engineered hardwood in birch (i think? it's light-medium brown) ... I so desperately wanted the darker hardwood, in a deep walnut colour but could not afford it at the time.
The room is 20 x 10 ft, so 200 sq feet of hardwood. Is it realistic to be able to sand down and stain the entire floor in a cost effective way without compromising the finish? Or would it be better to pay a professional to re-stain it? Does anyone have any experience with this and can recommend a good starting point? What does this job cost?
