questions about 20 year old hardwood flooring
We have an older home with hardwood floors. In the kitchen/dining area, a previous owner used black glue to attach multiple layers of linoleum flooring
we got all the linoleum up but we have a nasty black layer of glue
We want to remove the glue and refinish the floor. Is there any way besides highly volatile solvents? I notice that one person mentioned boiling water.
You may be able to scrap off the heavy layers and then use rough grit sand paper to get the rest.
I would have the hardwood sanded and finished to remove the glue. I don't really know of any other way. Solvents can make to much of a mess and the fumes would be terrible. Of course, with sanding and finishing, you will have a mess as well but I think the finished product would look a lot better.
