question about aclimating hardwood

hello and thanks in advance,.. I took on 2 bedrooms in my house to install hard wood floors, bought all the hardwood in december and has been stored in my living room,, two weeks ago i unboxed what i thought the first room would need , im about a box short. My question is, with all the material sitting in the house for the last six months can i unbox and slam it in tonight or play it safe? it is my home and i want it to last and look good, just wondering what some of you pro's would do in my shoes, thanks everyone

question about aclimating hardwood

Go out to the box store today and purchase a cheap moisture meter. it's about $30. If the reading is within 2% of the floor it is being installed on you are O.K.. If not you should wait.

Make sure when acclimating HW you cut the plastic as you stock it.

I see to many HW floors "acclimating" on jobs for days wrapped securely in their vapor proof, manufacturing plastic.
