Quarter Round with New Carpet

Hello. I am having carpet installed this week. They company that is installing the carpet was going to charge me to remove and install new quarter round. I told them I can do it if need be. What is the correct way in doing this. My entire house has base moulding with quarter round on the bottom most of the house has hardwood floors, some floors just had carpet over them. I refinished the hardwood flooring in the dining room, hallway, and foyer. The rooms that are going to get carpet is the living room and master bedroom. In the master they had carpet installed wall to wall and just had the carpet against the quarter round it was never removed, can't I just do that? My reason is because when they put carpet in the living room and the quarter round going into the dining room from the living rom and the hallway if I remove it and put it back on after the carpet is install it will not sit even how it is now because it will be raised from the carpet. Suggestions?

Take the quarter round off and don't put it back down.

I guess maybe that would be another option. The only thing is that the baseboards go directly to the floor, normally the carpet should go under the baseboard right?

I believe it can be done that way or butt up against it. Just like it's done in your master, right against the quarter round that was left in place.

The quarterround can stay right where it is. If they don't know how to install with it in place, find someone else. They can't be very good. I have installed for almost 40 years and the only time I ever wanted it removed is if it was put down over existing carpet and there are ways around that.
