quarter round + door frame= headache

I have recently finishd installing laminate floor and layed all my quarter round to hide expansion gap. all i have left are 5 door frame that still have an exposed expansion gap. tried to put quartr round around frames but it does not fit flush with quarter round on baseboards. have tried to cut 23.5 angles to the ends to reduce unevenness- still looks odd.
-any suggestions or tricks i can use?
-should i use something other than quarter round?

You're supposed to install the casings first then the baseboards and shoe molding. Or, are you saying the base and casing were never removed and you didn't undercut the casings and slip the new flooring under them?

We fill the occasional gap with wood putty, coloured the shade of the laminate.

Is that what you're talking about?

My guess is he didn't undercut the casing.

Unfortunately I don't have an easy answer for that one.
