Purchase Planipatch to cover the old adhesive ?

Quick question....we pulled up the old old carpet and want to lay VCT down. The old adhesive is still coving the entire floor. We have scraped the floor and it is fairly smooth. We were told that the VCT adhesive will not stick to the old carpet adhesive. We were advised to purchase Planipatch to cover the old adhesive. Do we have to do this? Thank you!

That is probably some good advice. The Plani-Patch will "take" to the old adhesive residue and the new adhesive will take to the Plani-Patch. In this case I would use the additive to mix the Plani-Patch and not mix it with water.
