Problem finishing hardwood floors
This is my first time finishing hardwood floors. I sanded the floor with 80 then 100 grit. Stained it with minwax red oak stain then polyurethaned it two times with minwax brand oilbased polyurethane. I followed the directions on the can and waited the recommended 6-8 hours before applying the second coat. The can said wait 72 hours before moving in furniture, I waited 5 days. My problem is the polyurethane is easily scraped off the floor. Is there a sealer or something that I should use? Any help is appreciated. Please be patient with me I'm a newbie.

Put felt feet on the bottms of the furniture.
Which poly did you use, some are not made for floors.

Ok thanks. I was thinking of doing that with the felt.
I used minwax oilbased polyurethane for floors. I was wondering if maybe it was still soft because it's been a little cool and rainy the past few days. Would that make it take longer than 5 days to dry?

Being cool and wet could very well have slowed down the drying time.
Even if you did a perfct job sliding furniture across it will scratch it. All it takes is one piece of something hard under the foot to do it.
