preparing for adura

Hello there! I am going to be installing adura vinyl luxury tile over existing lino. I have a couple prep questions I'm wondering if someone can help me with.

The existing lino is in quite good shape except for a couple seams that have opened up. Is it best to cut out the problem area and fill with some kind of product? Or should i try staple down the areas to make it a flat surface?

In my hallway, half of it was subfloored and lino and the other half was carpet. I removed the carpet and now have to lay subfloor. What should I do to make the new subfloor level to the old subfloor with the lino? The difference between the two will be the layer of old lino.

The entire area of old lino will be embossed.

Thanks so much for your help.
