Precautions for cutting this stuff

I'm building a wall extension in a corner so I cut the carpet which was installed in 1972. This was between the carpet and the asbestos tile. Could this be friable asbestos? I have my particulate respirator on as I type this.

Looks like horse hair carpet pad. Not asbestos, just a mess to deal with. Common from the 50's thru the 80's. In fact it was expensive.

Good. It was stapled down though and tile is cracking with every staple I pull. I'm glad it's just a corner I'm dealing with and just two staples.
