porcilen tiles
I am putting in porcelain tiles in my dinning room and kitchen (as you know it ain't cheap or easy) I have some very heavy kitchen appliances (stove A lone is about 1000 lbs) and I am pretty sure this is going to crack the tiles when I put it in so I was planning on just running the tile to just up to the legs .My question is this anybody got any suggestion on what to put at the edge of the tile so you cant just see the bare concrete floor under the appliances.I was thinking of trying to find some stainless steel bending it and making like a toe kick under each piece of equipment .I will consider any suggestions ...cant be any worse then some my wife has come up with

What is your substrate criteria?
The porcelain tiles will easily support any kitchen appliance you want to put on them if the tiles are installed properly. ![]() If your substrate is wood... What size are the joists? What style are the joists? What is the side-by-side spacing of the joists? What is the unsupported span of the joists in this area? What is the subfloor constructed of? How many layers of subfloor? Are you using a tile underlayment? Which tile adhesive do you have in mind? What does your stove "really" weigh? |

yup. Porcelain should have absolutely no problem with the weight at all.
just make sure you are installing an anti-fracture membrane everywhere or the will be cracking from movement. Red Guard is my prefference. |
